  • Maintaining Outdoor Spas

    Hi,

I have not seen any other posts like this on these forums so hopefully this is a new request.

Does anyone know of any useful resources on how to maintain your spa or hot tub in top condition?

It would be nice to find something that is comprehensive and easy to read.

    Thx,
    SpaDude

    Try spaforums.com

I've spent a bunch of time looking at poolforum.com and someone there recommended "spababes.com" a while ago. I don't have a spa, so I can't really comment. They also have a forum at spaforums.com.

    Give it a whirl.

about the only thing I can add about outdoor spas is protect against the sun. the sun has a way of bleaching everything is sees. from fiberglass to wood, the ultraviolet light will harden fiberglass and bleach stain on a spa deck. use extra fine screening for venting around the tub surround so little critters don't get into your air pump. maintain your pool chemistry accurately, chlorine or bromide systems need the proper Ph in the water to prevent algae. ultraviolet purofiers need to be maintained. their quartz tubes need to be clean, efficiencies go down as they get covered with scale.
