  • hard wired dishwasher convert to wall plug

Help - trying to replace the 20 year old dishwasher in my new house revealed a hard wire from the appliance into the wall. My installer won't mess with it until there's a plug in the wall for him to plug the new DW into.

I'm pretty sure I can add a plug myself, any tips? Dangers?

    Thanks,
    Nathan

There should be a work box in the wall where the hard wire comes out. That's where you put the plug. You might need an adapter depending on what size the box is. IE: you want the new plug to fit into the box. Just wire the plug correctly. Black to hot, white to neutral, bare to ground.
Power off before you do this, of course.
