  • Cement flowerbed border ???

I'm planning a 70 foot long by 8 inch wide cement border. It will be mounded to about 4-5 inches thick at the center. I'll be embedding river rock in it. I'll be using quicrete bagged cement with fibers to resist cracking. Got a few questions. Really I'm wondering how much attention I need to apply to this. Should I use some sort of rebar or wire to renforce it? Should I use framing or just fill the hole as I go? Should I make expansion joints? Is 4-5 inches thick enough or too much? Does this need to be done all at once meaning don't start and stop? The only experience I've had using cement was on setting a few fence posts. I appreciate any tips.

rebar wouldn't hurt and an expansion joint every 20 foot would help. if you are in an area with long high frosting I'd do expansion joints every ten foot or so. screening embedded within the mix would help.
