500GB portable hard drive?

Can anyone help me decide which 500GB portable hard drive I should buy? After looking at many brands I have narrowed my choice down to Western Digital and Seagate FreeAgent. Both are available at Dealrocker.com with good discounts. Can anyone shed some lights on these hard drives and help me to make up my mind.?

I have been told that the Western Digital MyBooks are using inferior drives. In fact if you open the case to make use of the physical drive for something else it will void the warranty.

So I'd steer you towards the seagate drive, but try to get one with USB3 or eSATA so you will get it connected at a reasonable speed.
