Brick-Anew for Fireplace?

Has anyone tried to paint their brick with Brick-Anew? I have a white painted brick fireplace that I'd like to add some color to. The kits seem pricey for paint (about $155) and I'm having trouble finding any reviews of the product.

I just looked at the Brick anew online and I was thinking the same thing...too pricey for just paint. I am really at my wits end with my fireplace. It's brick but with black mortar so very unattractive. I was thinking about painting it as my decor is more contemporary/art deco. Any advice?

Lauren
