Painting exterior bricks in Memphis, TN

My daughter recently purchased her first house and wants to have the exterior bricks painted. The house was built in 1948 and has been fairly well maintained. What should the process be to prepare and paint the bricks. I plan on doing the work. The house is about 1250 sq ft and 90% of the exterior is brick. Looking forward to responses.
