stains on interior log walls

we hired a painting contractor to stain and reseal the exterior of our 10 year old log home. prior to beginning he powerwashed the exterior. water seeped in through the interior and dripped down and stained the log walls. We have tried numerous "organic" type products to attempt to clean up the drips, but nothing works. Short of sandblasting and restaining does anyone have any ideas we can try?

I think you ought to get after the painting contractor. He should have known that the "chinking" between the logs would leak. I think he's responsible for whatever happened and you should not be responsible to fix his goof ups.
