Do I prime BEFORE texture?

Hi. I am redoing a 50 sq foot storage room. I redrywalled one of the walls and repaired and retaped quite a bit of the surrounding areas. I would like to retexture the whole room, including over the old texture. The walls that weren't repaired are painted a flat white. Should I prime everything before texturing? BTW, I will be using an air texture gun. Thanks

if your ceiling is other than white, I would prime it. the texture base is mixed into the finish paint then loaded into the hopper. mind you, cover everything you don't want textured with plastic and masking tape. I used a texture gun twice and myself was covered with the paint and texture!!!
